Summer landscape

South Greenland is a region full of contrasts: full of sun, flowering plains and fertile valleys, ice-filled fjords, cliffs arising from the sea up to 2000 meters. As the climate here is milder the region has well developed farming industry and the coast has many remains from the colonization period. There is something for everyone.

The south of Greenland is mecca for climbers. One can find many coastal virgin cliffs with different difficulty levels. Also Polish climbers Eliza Kubarska i David Kaszlikowski climbed those vertical walls.

South Greenland is also connected with Vikings, who seeking for better life established their settlements here. The only remains are several ruins.

Three main towns in this region are; Narsaq, Qaqortaq Town and Nanortalik. Narsarsuaq is a peculiar gate to this part of the island as on the former American airport land planes from Europe.
